International Brotherhood Retreats

Lodging and Travel Information

The Location

Our location is a beautiful and comfortable retreat center in the Poconos near Stroudsburg, PA. You should not expect 5-star luxury accommodations, but clean and friendly lodgings in a serene setting. There are no private bathrooms, but some rooms have their own faucets and the number of available showers and restrooms is adequate for our size group. The scenery is magnificent with forests, mountain ridges, swimming ponds and hiking trails at our east coast location.

Meals

Meals will be served three times a day and will be home-cooked and healthy. There will be vegetarian or vegan options for those who request it and some meat or fish dishes at most meals. Coffee and tea will be available throughout the day. If you have other dietary needs, please let us know when registering. Special meals could incur an additional cost. Please check when registering.

Travel Information

From New York City you can take a bus which is about a 90-minute ride from The Port Authority Bus Terminal. There are also buses from Philadelphia. Driving directions will be sent to all registered participants as well. You can also fly into Lehigh Valley International Airport (formerly ABE), which is about 45 minutes away, and is the closest airport. Taxi fare to Kirkridge from ABE is about $60. We may be organizing some car pools or group tickets for the bus. Information about this will be sent out prior to the retreat.

Please Note Before Making Final Travel Plans:

~ We hold a kick-off event in New York City on the evening before the retreat starts. This will be your opportunity to arrange car pool rides, etc. as well as a chance to meet some of the participants before the retreat actually begins.
~ Do not book your return flight earlier than 9 PM on the last day in order to not miss any part of the retreat.
~ The retreat center will not be able to handle early arrivals or late departures unless arrangements have been made in advance.

Lodging before or after the retreat

If you are traveling from another area and want to spend a few days in the New York area without incurring the cost of a hotel room, you can always try couchsurfing.com or airbnb.

We have this tarn to enjoy on the property in the Poconos.
